چکیده
There have been a plethora of failures of e-marketplaces in the last couple of years. They have failed due to various reasons but a common factor in most of these failures has been the lack of participation by smaller players due to a lack of trust in the e-markets. This paper argues the need for the government’s participation in e-markets as a trust guarantor. The paper also discusses other significant reasons for the government to participate in e-markets. The authors believe that government participation in e-markets will enhance the efficiency of the economy as a whole.
